Here are a few tips to make sure your designer gets the info they need – and to make sure you get the best results!
Revisit any preliminary strategy work, and make sure you review the deliverables with a bigger-picture perspective in mind.
It can be easy to slip into making decisions from personal preference, and forget about the strategic business-related goals you’re trying to achieve – so be sure to check in with those first.
What will your audience need? What will they enjoy? What will delight them and make them feel connected to your & your brand?
Make sure you’re taking these questions into account as well alongside any preferences you may have when giving design feedback.
If you don’t like something your designer has presented you with, trust me – they want to know!
Though we try our best, we designers are not mind-readers, and we can’t know whether you’re not loving something unless you tell us. Once you do, we’ll be eager to find a solution that you’re happy with!
Take the time to discern what exactly is not working for you, and think about why it might not be working.
The more detail & insight you can give us into your thoughts, the better!
If you’re ever unsure about why your designer did something, give them the chance to better explain their reasoning.
Chances are, everything they’ve done within your project has a purpose.
